Was up (reasonably) early, around 8am. House was quiet as. Nobody moved. Apparently Margaret was up already and had gone (grocery) shopping. I made myself some coffee, and browsed the web a little, also fixed Rolf's computer a bit, had nothing to do anyways. Took a while for the people to get back from their dreamworld...
Being Fathersday (I wouldn't have known... ) Rolfie had a day off from his normal chores. We went bowling early in the arvo, which has been a while for me, but was fun. Of course, as I hadn't played for a long time, I didn't really do too well...

It's good seeing my friends again. Been way too long since last time. Then again, it is 2000km away... Well, almost anyheuws. Rolf made pancakes for dinner, and we had some of that port. Too bad Margaret was feeling real bad on Sunday.

And I'm back in the plane. Got a seat all the way in the back. Bit weird when you're taking off. When the plane has enough speed and lifts its nose, the tail goes down for a bit before it actually goes up too. Very strange feeling. Got a late flight back, 21:45, in Brissie close to midnight. Bit later today as we had a delay taking off. Ah well.

Gee I'm pissed off with myself. Had flights booked for this weekend to go to Melbourne, visit Rolf and Margaret and the kids. Flight left Saterday morning 6:15am. Without me. Had everything sorted Friday evening, everything packed that I needed (which wasn't much) everything planned and was pretty much ready to go. Figured out when to get up, what time I had to leave the house. Everything. Even set the alarm at the right time giving me a bit extra time in case I needed it.

Forgot to do one thing though. Actually turn the alarm on. Woke up 6:30am. Probably heard the freaking plane I was supposed to be on do a fly-by. F**k. Getting online on the Virgin Blue website to see my options (been a while since I booked) I couldn't change my flight because it was a Blue saver. Can't change those. Crap. Tried calling Virgin Blue, and was told that due to various issues, it could be a while before anyone would be able to speak to me. I'm doing a really good imitation of Ramsey Gordon at this stage.

In the end I did the only thing I could. Book a new flight for 10am. 8am would have been possible too, but that would have left me with no time. Luckily I managed to get hold of Rolfie before he headed off to the airport just in time too.

F**k.

Cost me an extra bloody $209. On top of that, when I was almost at the airport, I realized my unconscious subconciousness forgot to take our mobile, it was still on the charger. When things go wrong, they always come in pairs. My phone has the bookingnumber for the return flight. And I didn't take the boarding pass I printed Friday because that was useless anyway. I thought. I should have the itinerary still in my email, so I took a chance and hopped on anyways. Going back to fetch my phone might have meant missing another flight. Not on the same day please.Argh. At least the rest of the weekend should be more fun....
Arriving in Melbourne at 12:20pm now. Rolf should be waiting outside. And if he's not... I'm gonna have to wait. Can't contact him... Well, I suppose I can always use a public phone. Haven't done that in years...

Flight went fine, arrived a little late, but nothing dramatic. And when I had to use a payphone, I had nothing but $2 coins. And those machines don't give change. So I ended up paying $2 for a 5 second phone call. Bloody rip-off.
Landing in Melbourne was really good, normally (as far as I know anyway) you come in over the Dandenongs, not this time, might be because, we came from more north. Because of the winds over the Dandenongs, the landing is usually fairly rough. This time its sweet as.

Anyheuws, it was good seeing Rolf and Margaret and the kids again. Been a long time. They took me out for dinner to a (very) good Vietnamese restaurant, and afterwards to a movie. Guess that bottle of port will have to wait till tomorrow...
