Dead again...
Wednesday, 10 October 2007
I had decided to take the Pajero to the railway station and buy some brakefluid on the way, so at least I could keep braking. But, as I turned the key to leave, the thing wouldn't make a sound. Battery dead again...
So I got my jumpercables out, grabbed the Magna and got the Pajero to start. I decided it was better to just drive down to Moorooka and drop it off for the car dealer to have a look it. I'd just take the train back to Roma str and go to work.
When I got there, their first response was to replace the battery, again. But since it was also leaking brake fluid, it had to stay anyways.
Calling back later in the day I learned it wouldn't be ready till the next morning. Which was cool.
Leaking brakes fixed, dead battery not.

Sometimes its just not easy. Around 10am I called to see how they were going with the Pajero, and it was ready. Again.
So when I got there, I popped the hood, and inspected the brake booster, which had been dried. Feeling lucky I got in and turned the key. Nothing. Again, dead as.
So when I made a comment about it, they were about to drop in another battery. Again. But, when I mentioned this was the third battery already, the mechanic had the thing check quickly by a sparky. Turned out it didn't charge properly, and drained the battery every time.
Sigh. So I left it there. Again.
I called (again) later that day, only to hear the sparky wouldn't have time to look at it/fix it until next morning. Friday. When we wanted to go to Moreton Island. Which we weren't going to do anymore Friday morning (as I had first intended), as Petra had to go to work to check her new aerodynamic chair, but we had booked for Friday evening. And I didn't really want to go with the Pajero.
Fingers crossed...
Ready Again...
Friday, 12 October 2007
And its ready again. So with fingers crossed and hopes up, I went back to the car dealer. And yes, it finally started when I turned the key.
So when I got back home, we chucked all the gear we thought we needed into the Pajero and got it ready to go to Moreton Island.
Which is another story BTW.
